Sadi: updated by Jetta-Windstar Sadi: updated by Jetta-Windstar
This is my SUV, Sadi. I love this vehicle and I was sure as heck blessed with a Dad that could afford it! The license plate was changed a couple year or so ago after I got it to what is displayed there because of my love of helicopters.

(The thing on the edge of the hood is my keys...)

The R22, for those that don't know, is a helicopter.

This is a 2001 Ford Escape.

Conveniently, I am currently 22. (taken 2011)

my car is a blue 2001 Ford Escape, apparently one of the "Fancy oness" in 2001. He's almost the same color, I think he's a little brighter. He might have been custom made. Whatever the case, his first owners spent alot of money on him. I call him Big Blue. I love him to death. He's my first car and he's already spoiled rotten!! :)

awww, cute name! thats good to hear that the former owner's took good care of him, I hate people who don't treat their cars well, keep em clean and running smoothly and whatnot. Sadi runs great and the only thing not so good about her appearance wise is the rear seats have stains from the former owner's dog or something *shrugs*, we haven't figured out how to get out the stains. I need to clean up Sadi still...been so busy I haven't had much time to do it x_X.

Here's a pretty good pic I took of him. He's reflecting the sky here and holding the dog on his hood. I also, since it was chilly out put his cover on him somewhat so it sort of looked like he was all wrapped up in some sort of car snuggie.

I live in Rawlins, Wyoming. We're kind of in a hole between mountains so all the wind comes down on us, all the snow falls down on us- I call it Gravity's target. I read somewhere that because of that, although it's a southern Wyoming town, its one of the coldest in the state. Poor Big Blue has to get pulled out by my mom's '07 Dodge Nitro alot. And once, we where trying to move him out of a snowdrift that had formed around him and the Nitro got stuck, too!!! Luckily my dad and his boss had just come to our house and used their Ford F250 Super Duty and Chevy 3500 to pull us apart and out. I may have posted a May pic of Snowflake, the Nitro, covered in snow.

ah, wyoming, makes sense. Interesting...luckily Sadi's never gotten stuck :P. She's a champ in the winter. We always have snow tires on, though I figure yall do too. Sometimes I'm not sure why I want a pick up truck...theyre so squirrely...maybe when Sadi gets too old to run I'll get a nice black Ford Escape 2010 or something. :P

hahahaha, My friend's grandma let me drive her 2010 Escape. The new ones don't exactly handle as good. And yes, we have snow tires, and the times Big Blue gets stuck are rare. Like, maybe I slide off the road trying not to hit a deer. Or the snow is just so deep because we got socked in for 3 days straight. It happens. It's pretty sad, because although we get bad snow, we never get snow days. Or late school starts. Big Blue is great in the winter on school days which are usually like, 15 below zero degrees and lower, Big Blue is usually helping people. (And cops. Our cops are dumb. The'res not many crimes that go on, so they turn their sirens on so they can speed around town, but they aren't really chasing anyone. One of my friend's dads is a cop and he did this while giving us a ride to my house. he said every cop does it because there's nothing to do.) Sometimes, the cops get stuck in the snow and its Big Blue to the rescue. Once, there where about 6 cops on the road and my mom and I where in Big Blue. Snowflake was getting something fixed at the Dodge shop. She had gotten something stuck in her engine. A rock or something. She and I called some friends and it was two Dodge Nitros, Big Blue, and three Ford F350's pulling out all 6 cops. But one thing SUV's and trucks have trouble with around here, is the daily breeze of about 45MPH. And thats just a gentle breeze. I'm sure Rawlins has Chicago beaten on the wind.

LOL, thats awesome. Hm...im going to have to test drive one before i decide. What I want next is a Ford F150 but it depends on what money i have later and if I decide the Escape still handles better. I'm uploading some older photos I took of Sadi. Sadly I'm having trouble finding the one of her buried in snow x_X. I'll find it one of these days...

So that means Big Blue has a hook and winch? Sadi doesn't...if I go mudding more I'm going to want to get one but right now I dont have the money for that sort of thing. Luckily, the coppers around AK aren't stupid, and usually theyre pretty busy...I don't think I've ever seen one get stuck thankfully.

45 mph winds...heh we get pretty damn bad ones up here, theyre often called the chinook winds. Some get as high as 60plus mph whippin around the mountains. On average its about 40 to 50 mph gusts, I think. I'm not sure of the record.

daawww, sadness! What I found works because Big Blue did have a small stain in his front seat is a little bit of pine-sol. It looked like maybe an accidental coffee splash. I always keep Big Blue clean as I can. I tell my friends if they make a mess to clean it up. And I'll neer let my parents smoke in there. I love em' to death, but I want Big Blue to smell like mocha. not like ciggarettes. In the summer, he gets Mocha scents, winter, vanilla, and as for holidays- valentines is strawberries, halloween is "Black Ice", July 4th is sea breeze, Thanksgiving is an orangey scent, Christmas, I combine mocha and peppermint scents, and New Years, a fresh pine scent. Big Blue always has a smell thats tinted just a little bit with mocha or vanilla. This year, I've found coffee scents to be nice. So the car sort of smells like a Starbucks. I have a friend, however, she has an old VW Bug, and its owners took awful care of it and made it look hideous like a bunch of prostitutes lived in it! Its seats are all torn, it's missing a spare tire, it has lots of dents, etc.etc. A real junker and isn't much good on the ice. I saw your picture of Sadi covered in snow and commented about how mine gets the same thing from late august to late April. Of course, we still get frost and light/medium snow until about late July. A warm year will bring us summer in late June. Big Blue is actually very good on the ice. My friend named her bug "Curious George" because on the ice it likes to "wander off". Normally, I get calls for Big Blue to come pull it out. She hopes to restore it and I'm helping her.

lol nice. Weird, I don't recall seeing your comment on that one picture of Sadi in all the snow...if it was on my old account that would make sense, I have yet to upload it here, I think. *goes to look through her deviations*

Big Blue is way shinier than Sadi o_O. Sadi needs a new waxing soon, and I need to get some more scent leave thingies as well..i have one or two different kinds yet i keep forgetting to hang one up! Though, Sadi is naturally a charcoal blue, her paint job isnt meant to be that shiny, crystalline type some newer vehicles have. It was intentionally made to give a more metallic look, which I like just as much. In fact, steelblue is one of my favorite colors now thanks to this vehicle.

XD I dont let anyone mess with Sadi's dash unless I give them permission. If they start fumbling with buttons, make a mess and whatnot, I get pissy haha.

yeah, same with Big Blue. His first owners ordered a custom sea-blue almost on him. On his side he has little stripey details, too but I think that mayb be on all escapes. lol.

not from what I've seen actually. Sadi doesn't have that. Even most of the new Escapes dont. I wouldnt mind having one of the newer Escapes o0, they have awesome gas mileage, I think better than some pick ups!

Yes, new escapes do have good gas mileage, but are not as powerful as the old ones and don't handle as good. You can compare them with a Dodge Nitro and they handle just a tiny bit worse. I'm not saying Nitros or new Escapes handle bad, but they aren't quite as good. Stick with your older one as long as she can. As my mom would say about her Nitro, Snowflake, "Drive her till either she croaks or I do!" :D

XD thats what I plan to do with Sadi lol.
And when I do get a new vehicle, well its still probably going to be a Ford regardless of what type I want.
